EAT & LOUNGE

Image
With Thanksgiving nearly here for those in the US, thoughts of dining and relaxing on Thursday are foremost on the agenda. Giant vintage tables and broken in leather chairs may be the perfect way to deal with the holiday bloat. Currently dreaming of pumpkin pie and turkey... For vegetarians, here's a tasty carved turkey you can put on the table without the guilt. If you still need a dining table or a place to lounge and unbutton your pants on, take a look at the warehouse . We might just have something that can help out with the holiday. Just no pies. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Den Style

Image
As everything starts getting colder and days much shorter, warm up with some cozy den style. Anchor any den with a Hans Wegner daybed. Doubles as an extra sleeping spot for unexpected overnight guests unwilling to brave the cold.  Hang a Stilnovo aluminum lamp over a coffee table for intimate lighting. Pair with Rohe Noorwolde Bamboo hoop chair for as extra seating for extra special friends. Layer books, magazines and delicious snacks on a mid century coffee table with a sturdy chrome base . Clear it all off for an impromptu dance party. Throw in some vignettes of your favorite vintage pottery, West German or just a retro curvy ceramic  vessel . Load a bar cart with your favorite spirits to get you through those long winter months. Mix up a barrel of Swedish Glögg to drink away the holiday malaise. Cozy den inspiration with a dash of Hans Wegner. Better with a cocktail and a good book.

‘Only the simplest is best. Take away all that is unnecessary, develop the plasticity’.   -Ilmari Tapiovaara The noted industrial Finish designer Ilmar Tapiovaara faced the practical challenges that modern industrial design posed by addressing how to assemble series of pieces, how to package for transportation, how to create solidity, ergonomy, and investigate new materials and techniques. Alongside dozens of chairs and other furniture pieces designed mostly for public premises, Tapiovaara also designed interiors for numerous banks, offices, hotels and shops. Classic furniture designs include the Aslak Chair (1958) , Domus Chair (1946) , Mademoiselle (1956) , and Fanett Chair (1949). Click here to view our current Ilmari Tapiovaara pieces.
