Willem Hendrik Gispen (1890 - 1981)

Dutch Modernist industrial designer W.H. Gispen may be best known for his widely distributed steel tube furniture and lighting. Gispen's Rotterdam factory produced office friendly modern furniture, which became wildly popular throughout Europe during the middle of the twentieth century and continues producing new unique and sustainable pieces.

Seemingly being generally out of fashion after the boom of the 1960's and 1970's, West German pottery has been gaining massive popularity and a dedicated collector base that appreciates its style and eccentric aesthetic. Some of these ceramic pieces are hand-thrown while others are mass-produced stock shapes. Even stock shapes are made unique by the rough textures and the huge range of individual glazes. Vogue Features Brooklyn’s Newest Brewery, Grimm, Outfitted by Amsterdam Modern

Grimm Artisanal Ales Brewery ,  a sleek yet airy space on Metropolitan Avenue with sitting room for 45,  which opens June 30.  The Chairs are from (none other than) Amsterdam Modern .
